Today’s internet is changing fast. Not only are the rules being changed by Google and others that control what they allow but the people browsing the internet are changing their expectations of what they expect as well.
There are basically two things driving the change to today’s internet in regards to quality of content. I am going to tell you a little about each one and what you need to do in order to be successful in tomorrow’s internet world.
The first thing behind the change is companies such as Google are working to “clean” up the content of what they are seeing. They no longer want to see websites that are self replicating with thousands of people driving traffic to those same websites. These giants are also working to eliminate the thousands of ads that contain outlandish claims of the type of income that can be made online. While there are some people that do make millions of dollars online and there are also some people that have made a lot of money in a short amount of time but the reality is that it is not the average. Moving forward, these internet giants will be working to remove this type of content from their web sites/search engines so that people can gain access to quality information while browsing online.
Those billions of people surfing the website are the second thing driving the change to today’s internet marketing. In the past, people would accept “low” quality content and were willing to purchase on a whim. That is no longer true. People want to purchase from people and preferable people they trust. Those looking to purchase online want to make sure they are getting the bang for their buck that they expect and not to get scammed out of their hard earn cash by some “make money quick” scheme.
So what does this mean to those looking to be successful with their internet marketing business? The answer is that each person needs to acquire their own web page and fill it with content that is about them personally. Internet marketing needs to be about marketing yourself and not a product or service. Once you have gained the trust of the internet shopper based on their knowledge of you and how well you portray yourself as being knowledgeable, the person will have you attention and be in a better position to purchase your product. “People buy from people”, thus you must be able to let them get to know you in a short amount of time.
So, how does one present themselves to internet browsers? First you need to introduce yourself and use photos. Secondly, you need to provide some background history on yourself so that people can understand where you came from. Third, you need to explain a problem. Fourth, you need to solve that problem for them. Lastly, you show them how they can solve the same problem in their lives.
